CIPA, working for you
With Medicare Part D and the rising Canadian dollar making the international pharmaceutical market more competitive than ever, CIPA’s role in working with governments to ensure their understanding of our contribution to both the Canadian economy and the health and welfare of our patients is more critical than ever.
In concert with the U.S. media and major seniors’ organizations we are ensuring that the first symbol of reliability in international pharmacy will always be the CIPA seal. As the legislative work continues in Washington to pass a Bill legalizing imports from Canada, CIPA members are in the unique position of having direct input into the legislators, and immediate monitoring of developments, from our representatives in Washington. This allows CIPA to be able to more accurately anticipate potential regulations and/or legislative changes which will directly affect the health of our members’ businesses. It also permits CIPA to provide its members with timely information that members can put to good use to protect and enhance their bottom line.
The Canadian government is stepping up their efforts, in cooperation with the RCMP to ensure that counterfeits stay out of the Canadian supply chain. CIPA is working with the government to ensure that CIPA members are part of the solution to this increasingly serious problem. CIPA’s roots are in Canada, where our Canadian pharmacies operate. CIPA’s rigorous safety standards can be applied to ensure safe dispensing from pharmacies in other countries, and CIPA membership is available to pharmacies in Canada and abroad that meet our strict standards.
If you are in the international pharmacy business and are not a member of CIPA, check out some of the benefits of membership outlined below and then call the Association office to find out more about the benefits of membership.
