TORONTO, June 2, 2005 - Computer Associates Canada Co. (CA) and the Canadian Information Productivity Awards (CIPA) announced today that they have joined forces to celebrate information technology and innovation excellence.

Computer Associates has become a Diamond Sponsor of CIPA, the premier information-technology and innovation awards program in Canada. The awards, now in their 13th year, celebrate visionary organizations that have developed novel ways to improve productivity.

"CIPA complements CA's vision to develop innovative software that makes our customers more productive," said Joanne Moretti, General Manager of CA Canada. "Both CIPA and CA are leaders in empowering businesses to compete more strongly in today's global marketplace."

As a Diamond Sponsor, CA commits to supporting the CIPA mission of honouring organizations that have developed innovative, results-based technology solutions.

"CA delivers technology that truly transforms business," said Norm Kirkpatrick, President and CEO of CIPA. "Its solutions touch many areas of everyday life, from bank transactions to airport security. Our program gains relevant knowledge and expertise thanks to CA's involvement."

The annual CIPA competition is a showcase for the implementation of best practices. Winners become models for other Canadian organizations on how to adopt new technologies and introduce advanced technologies faster, in order to generate higher productivity, develop innovative products and services and foster increased prosperity for all stakeholders within the organization, the industry and the economy at large.

CA will be working with other CIPA Diamond Sponsors and its Managing Sponsor, CGI Group Inc., to gather and disseminate case studies drawn from winners of the CIPA competition. CIPA makes these knowledge resources available to organizations on its Web site, www.cipa.com, as well as through other media and events.

Says CA's Moretti, "In supporting CIPA, CA is recognizing the tremendous value that this awards program delivers by showing us all what works best."
